Black is, well, black. Beaverkill Hackle black dry fly quality feathers are rarely dyed. Usually a few natural black hackles come along, and their quality is surprisingly good, but not good enough for the higher grades. Fortunately Beaverkill Hackle natural black has great quality. Some natural black feathers have an iridescent green sheen, which is especially noticeable in hen hackle, both in larger neck feathers and in saddle feathers.
